Set Static IP on a Bixolon Label Printer

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Providing your Bixolon label printer with a static IP address ensures it maintains the same network location at all times. This means POS systems and kitchen devices can consistently find and connect to the printer without disruption—reducing network lookup delays, avoiding communication failures after reboots or power outages, and simplifying troubleshooting. Enhances reliability, manageability, and speed to streamline your POS ordering workflow.

Things you need:

  • Bixolon Label Printer

  • Laptop/Computer

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Feed print on the device to get the network IP address:

  • Hold down the feed button until the LED changes and then on the blinking green led press the button again to get the full status page.

The device network information will be printed. Note the IP address, in this case it is 192.168.1.171.

2. Type the IP address into a browser, It will then go to the Bixolon splash page.

The default username is admin and the password is password.

3. Click on LAN configuration

4. Click Network on the menu.

5. Here you can change the IP Assignment method from DHCP to Manual.

You can either use the very same IP information or set a different IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway and DNS as needed.

6. Click Submit, then close the page. Reopen the status page (Feed Print) to confirm the changes. Finally, test the static IP by entering it in a browser to verify everything is working.
