If your website operates within the EU, you need to make sure you're GDPR compliant. Flipdish makes this easy for you on our Flipdish-powered websites and mobile applications.

When you create your account, we automatically detect if you're operating within the EU or not, and if you are, we enable GDPR compliant cookie management for your website and apps.

However, if you'd like to manage this yourself, you can do so from your Flipdish Portal.

Enable/Disable GDPR cookies in the Flipdish Portal

1. In your portal, navigate to Website -> Settings -> Cookie Management

2. Enable the type of cookie management you'd like

How does GDPR compliance change my website?

On web, your customers will have a slightly different experience.

  1. Your customers will see a cookie management interface when they first visit your site, where they an opt into or out of different levels.
  2. Your customers will see a notice informing them how their data is used, with relevant links to Flipdish documentation.
  3. If your customer does not opt in to "functional" cookies, then when logging in, they'll see an option to "remember me". Ticking this box will enable functional cookies and mean that they do not have to go through the login process again next time they visit (within 6 months)

How does GDPR compliance affect my Flipdish mobile applications?

On mobile, your customers will see similar changes to web.

  1. On app launch, they'll see a cookie management modal similar, where they can opt into or out of different levels of cookies.
  2. If your customer already has information in the Flipdish system they'll see a notice about their data on first launch which explains why they're seeing their information on an app they've never used before.
  3. If your customer does not opt in to "functional" cookies, then when logging in, they'll see an option to "remember me". Ticking this box will enable functional cookies and mean that they do not have to go through the login process again next time they visit (within 6 months)
