Set Up Food Safety Tasks and Incident Types

Our food safety module allows you to add and track all your tasks that are required to be done by your staff members to meet your region's food safety regulatory body's requirements.

You and your staff can update and monitor the status of each task and log incident reports using an iOS or Android tablet with our Flipdish RMS Kitchen app installed. You can download this from the Google Play or Apple app store on your tablet device.

Requirements:

Please note you will need Owner level teammate to access and manage these settings for your restaurant.

Instructions:

  1. Log into your https://portal.flipdish.com/ with your email address and password.

  2. Click on the "Add-Ons" tab on the left menu.

  3. Click "Food Safety" tab in the expanded menu on the left.

  4. Select the Property you want to edit from the list of properties at the top.

Setting up Tasks:

  1. Click "Task Types".

  2. Click "Add" in the top right corner

  3. Enter the name of the task type (e.g "opening checks")

  4. Click "Save" in the top right corner.

  5. Click "Close"

Setting up Tasks:

  1. Click "Tasks"

  2. Click "Add" in the top right corner.

In the "General" tab:

  1. Add "Task name"

  2. Select a "Task type" from the drop-down box

  3. Select a "Hazard type"

  4. Select a time of day this needs to be completed

  5. Select a colour code to highlight the priority or importance

  6. Select an "expiry date"

  7. Tick the box if this is a compulsory task

  8. Tick the "disable this task" box if you don't want this task active

In the "Properties" tab:

  1. Choose which properties from the list to target tasks to.

  2. If you want the task to apply to all properties then do not click any of the boxes as the default is "All Properties". Selecting properties in the list will restrict the task to only the selected properties.

In the "Constraints" tab:

  1. Select the days of the week you want this task performed

  2. Select the weeks of the year you want this task performed

  3. Select the months of the year you want this task performed

  4. If you do not select any it will automatically apply to all.

In the "Actions" tab:

  1. Enter what action you want your staff to perform

  2. Tick the box if the task is compulsory

  3. Select the Hazard type from the drop-down list

  4. Click "Add"

  5. You can add as many actions as you like in this section.

In the "Responses" tab:

  1. Type response options for your staff to choose from when completing the task

  2. Click "Add"

  3. You can add as many response options as you like in this section.

In the "Comments" tab:

  1. Type comments options for your staff to choose from when interacting with the task

  2. Click the plus icon

  3. You can add as many comment options as you like in this section.

To finalize these settings click "Save" in the top right corner of the page, and then click "Close".

Setting up Incident types:

  1. Click the "Add-ons" tab

  2. Click the "Food Safety" tab.

  3. Click "Incident Types"

  4. Click "Add" in the right corner

In the "Overview" tab:

  1. Name your Incident type

In the "Questions" tab:

  1. Enter a question you want to be answered about this incident

  2. Select the response type from the drop-down options

  3. Tick the box if it is compulsory to answer it

  4. Click "Add"

  5. You can add as many questions as you like in this section.

  6. To finalize these settings click "Save" in the top right corner of the page.

  7. Click "Close" in the top right corner
