Manage Dine-In Open Table Tabs

Overview
This guide provides step-by-step instructions on efficiently managing dine-in orders using your Flipdish Point of Sale system. Follow these steps to seamlessly handle table assignments, order entry, and payment processing.



Logging In and Setting Up

  1. Login: Begin by logging into the point-of-sale system using your five-digit PIN code.

  2. Select Dispatch Type: Choose 'Dine-In' as your dispatch type.

  3. Choose Server and Assign Table:

  • Select your server from the drop-down menu at the top.

  • Click on the table in your floor plan to add covers. Hold down on a second table to merge, then use the plus button to add covers.

  • Click 'Done' at the top of the page.

Initial Order Entry
1. Adding Drinks to the Order:

  • Click on the drinks category.

  • Add items to the order and the table's tab.

  • Click 'Exit' in the bottom right corner to send items to the relevant printer or Kitchen Display System (KDS).

Taking Food Orders:

  • Return to the point of sale system.

  • Click 'Dine In' and locate the engaged table.

  • Click on the table, then click 'Okay'.

  • Add the food items to the tab.

  • Click 'Exit' to send items to the relevant printer or KDS.

Payment Processing
Print Bill/Check:

  • When the customer wishes to pay, click on the print icon under the order summary on the right-hand side to print a bill or cheque for the customer.

Splitting the Bill (if necessary):

  • If customers want to split the bill by items, click on the items in the payment summary.

  • Click 'Pay' at the bottom of the screen. Confirm the partial payment for the tab.

Completing Payment:

  • If the customer wishes to pay the entire tab, click 'Pay' at the bottom of the screen.

  • For cash payment, enter the amount and click the cash button. The system calculates change automatically.

  • For card payment, click the credit button. The total cost appears on the card machine screen. Take payment and return to the home screen.

Final Steps
Post-Payment Actions:

  • After completing payment, you'll be brought back to the home screen or logged out, depending on your system configuration.
