How End-users Are Notified About Their Orders
Previously, Flipdish sent SMS messages to end-users to confirm their orders and share any applicable voucher codes. However, as of [Feb 2023], SMS order confirmations have been replaced with the Order Status Page for a more reliable experience.
📌 What is the Order Status Page?
When an end-user places an order, they will be automatically directed to the Order Status Page, where they can track their order in real time.
Awaiting Confirmation – When the order is placed, the page will show the order is waiting to be accepted.
Order Accepted – Once the store accepts the order, the page updates with an ETA for delivery/collection (if configured).
Order Completed – Once the estimated time has passed, the order is marked as completed.
This process ensures that end-users always have live updates on their order without relying on SMS notifications, which can sometimes fail due to network issues.
❌ Why Has Flipdish Stopped Sending Order Confirmation SMS?
Instead, the Order Status Page is now the default way for end-users to track their orders, providing more accurate and instant updates.

Does the end-user still receives SMS notification?
No, end-user no longer receive SMS with order confirmation. This feature was built to replace need for SMS which can’t be always reliable.
How do end-users track their order status?
End-users will be redirected to the Order Status Page after successfully placing an order. They can also check their Order History by logging into their profile in the Flipdish App or website.
Are loyalty reward notifications still sent via SMS?
For now, end-users still receive SMS updates regarding loyalty progress. However, this will also be replaced soon, allowing end-users to see their loyalty rewards directly in their Flipdish user profile.
Can SMS notifications still be enabled for my store?
At the moment, SMS notifications cannot be re-enabled. However, Flipdish is considering offering SMS as a paid service in the future.
What happens if an order is delayed?
ETAs on the Order Status Page are designed as a time range rather than a fixed time, ensuring 95%+ accuracy. If an order is delayed, end-users can still track its progress on the page.
Do store owners need to manually update the order status?
No. Order status updates are automated and change based on the estimated preparation and delivery time.
Will order status changes be logged for reference?
Yes, all manual and automated status updates are logged. Changes made by Flipdish automation will be marked accordingly, while manual updates will display the name of the user who made the change.
How do pre-orders work?
For pre-orders placed days in advance, the order will initially be marked as Pending. Once an ETA is set, it will move to Accepted, and then to Completed once the time has passed.
Can end-users place multiple orders at the same time?
Yes! End-users can place a new order while a previous order is still being prepared.
