Learn about how menu images are handled
The Flipdish system will automatically crop and downsize images to best suit the device that the customer is using.
For example, if they are on a retina iPhone X a larger resolution image will be served, compared with if they are on an iPhone 5.
This also means that you don't need to upload images with different aspect ratios for each device, even though the screen layout differs on a desktop vs mobile.
When adding images to your menu, please use the highest quality image that you have available, up to a maximum of 20MB.
We recommend a minimum image resolution of 1,920 x 1,080.
Images can be uploaded in PNG or JPG format. GIFs (15MiB max) are supported on Web Ordering.
How to Add Images:
Access the Flipdish Portal and select "Menu Editor" on the left hand menu.
Select the menu that contains the item you want to add an image and find the item in your menu.
When viewing the item there will be two places you can add an image depending on whether the item has an image attached already or not.
If the Item has no image attached:
If an item does not have an image already you can select the Blue image with a plus icon to the left of the image name to begin adding an image.
Select the method you wish to use to upload the image.
If the Item already has an image attached:
If an item already has an image attached you can select 3 dots to the right of the item and select "Edit".
From here you need to select the "Edit" option on the top right under the Basic info section
You may need to delete the already existing image in order to add a new image, you can do this by hovering over the image and selecting the "Bin" icon on the right hand side.
Now you will be able to see and use the "Add Image" option
Select the method you wish to use to upload the image.
