Summary
This article will outline how to manually update the WisePad 3 Stripe Card Reader software to the latest version.
Sometimes the update gets stuck at 0%. This method will force the update and get your Kiosk back in service taking orders.
Error - Update stuck at 0%
If you received this screen, then you will first need to Exit the Flipdish Kiosk App.
Press and hold the power button for 1-3 seconds on your Kiosk until a black screen appears with options as below.
Press 'Exit Kiosk'.
Enter code 1 2 3 4
On home screen, press the menu button as shown below.
Then press the 'X' button to close the Flipdish App.
Or, you can touch and drag the app up and off the screen like you do on your smartphone to close an app.
Then find the Flipdish Kiosk App and relaunch it.
Swipe left on your Kiosk home screen to see the Flipdish Icon, sometimes it is on a different panel.
Steps to Manually Update Wisepad 3 Card Reader software.
Make sure you start on the Flipdish Kiosk App home screen. See example below.
Press the Flipdish Logo until it changes colour.
Then remove your finger.
Press the logo again, and swipe left.
A black menu will appear. See below.
Press 'Toggle Settings' button.
Press on the left side of the screen, then press 'Stripe Terminal'.
On the screen shown below, press the 'Update' button.
Wait until it updates 100%.
Press the 'Close' button at top right side of the settings screen, to restart Kiosk App.
Outcome
The Wisepad 3 Card Reader should then be updated to the latest software version, and your Kiosk is ready to take orders again.
