Capture your customer's email in the ordering flow for marketing or operational purposes

Requirements:

The Flipdish mobile apps and websites can be configured to capture your customer's email address in the order flow. There are two modes available, request and require.

Request mode (marketing)

In this mode, your customers will be requested to enter their email. They can, however, dismiss the prompt. If they dismiss the prompt, they will be prompted again in 28 days, and every 28 days until they enter an email.

Require mode (operational)

In this mode, your customers will be required to enter their email. They will not be able to place an order without submitting an email address. This is useful when you need your customer's email address to provide email tracking, for example. Please note that the user is not automatically opted in to marketing in this mode. If you send marketing communications to customers who are not explicitly opted in to marketing, you could be in serious breach of your local data laws, ie GDPR.

How to configure request email mode

In order to to capture your customers email address, please follow the below steps:

  1. Login to Flipdish Portal.

  2. Click on the Sales Channels option in the navigation bar on the left hand side.

  3. Click on Settings.

  4. Update Request customer's email to optional or mandatory as required.

Your update is saved automatically as you made changes.
