How to set up your new printer to use with your POS for printing customer and/or kitchen dockets (KOT)
Requirements:
Sunmi Receipt Printer
Sunmi POS Machine
Connecting Your Printer
Ensure that the Sunmi printer is powered on, securely connected to the terminal, and has a paper roll loaded.
USB Connection: Connect the printer using a USB-A to USB-C cable. Plug the USB-A end into your Sunmi POS machine and the USB-C end into your Sunmi Printer.
Wireless/Network Printers: For wireless printers, follow additional steps to assign a static IP address within your LAN setup.
Configuring Your Printer
Launch the Flipdish POS application by tapping the icon on the desktop.
Access the "Configuration Wizard" by selecting the option at the bottom right of the screen. You may need to act quickly before the button disappears during the app boot-up.
Choose your printer type (USB, Bluetooth, or Network) and follow the prompts for additional setup instructions based on your selection.
After configuration, test print a document to ensure the printer is functional and correctly set up.
Once the configuration wizard concludes, your printer is set up and ready for use with the POS terminal.
Kitchen Docket (KOT) Configuration
During printer setup, optionally you may associate the printer with a KOT station profile for kitchen docket printing.
Customer Receipt Configuration
For customer receipt printing, you have one more step to follow to tell the POS terminal to use the newly setup printer as the receipt printer. This can be done with the following steps:
On the POS start screen, tap the "Options" button (bottom right), then select "Settings."
Scroll to view the "Settings" option if necessary. In the Settings screen, choose the "Print" tab.
Select your Receipt Printer from the dropdown list to specify the printer for sale receipt printing.
Your Sunmi printer is now set up and ready for use with the POS terminal for printing customer receipts and/or kitchen dockets.
