Configure service charges in the Flipdish Portal

Overview

Service charges allow you to apply a fee to customer orders. This can be either mandatory or optional, and you can customize the percentage charged. You can manage these settings directly in the Flipdish Portal, without needing to contact Support.

Benefits

  • Enable or disable service charges per store

  • Set a custom percentage, such as 5% or 12%

  • Choose between:

    • Mandatory service charge – cannot be removed by the customer

    • Optional service charge – the customer can remove or re-add it

  • Optionally hide the processing fee from the customer when a mandatory service charge is used

  • Self-manage setup and changes in the Flipdish Portal

How to configure service charges

Follow these steps to set up or update a service charge:

  1. Open the Flipdish Portal

  2. In the left-hand menu, go to Properties

  3. Select the store and Sales channel where you want to configure the service charge

  4. Scroll down and click on Service charge

  5. In the service charge section, you can:

    • Enable or disable the service charge

    • Choose between mandatory or optional

    • Set the service charge percentage

    • If using a mandatory charge, enable the option to hide the processing fee
      Note: The processing fee will be deducted from the total service charge and will not be shown to customers.

The fee is added automatically and cannot be removed by the customer.
