Customer Opt In / Out for Marketing

This article explains how your customers can opt in and out of marketing promotions on your Flipdish website and mobile app and where you can see their opt-in status in the Flipdish portal.

Requirements:

Flipdish Portal users with 'Owner' Access and 'Managed Owner' access for opting customers out of promotions in the Flipdish portal.

Customers opt-in via their profile on your Flipdish website or mobile application

When ordering food from your Flipdish website or mobile application, customers can opt into promotional messaging from your restaurant. This option will be available to them from the profile component displayed on the web & apps.

By default, your customers will be opted out of receiving promotions and they will be able to use the toggle in the "Receive promotion" section of their profile in order to opt-in:

The appearance of the opt-in component will depend on the device the customer uses to engage with your brand:

*Note that for the Receive promotion "On" status in iOS apps the toggle takes the brand colour that you defined while creating your mobile application.

Customer status and opt-out via the Flipdish portal

In order to see the promotion opt-in status of your customers in the Flipdish Portal please perform the following steps:

  1. Log in to your Portal at https://portal.flipdish.com

  2. Go to 'Customers' on the left-hand side menu

  3. Search for a particular customer by their name or phone number

  4. Click on the search result to open a customer's card

  5. In the "Contact Information" section on the right you will find the customer's opt-in status

You can opt a customer out of receiving promotions by clicking the "Opt out" link above. Note that after opting a customer out of receiving promotions you will not be able to opt them back in using the Flipdish Portal as they will only be able to do so themselves in their profile on your website or mobile application:

After you opt a customer out, the marketing opt-in status in the customer's profile on your Flipdish website or mobile application will update accordingly.
