Set Up K2 24'' Floor-Standing Kiosk with WisePad 3 Card Reader (EU/UK)

Requirements:

K2 24'' Flipdish Floor Standing Kiosk

(Please ensure the base of your Kiosk matches the base in the image below, if not, you may have the K2 Eco-service Kiosk, and you can find more information on the setup by clicking here!)

Setup Instructions

Step 1.

  • You should have received 3 boxes, we recommend you inspect the boxes.

  • Please contact the Flipdish team at [email protected] if there is any damage to the devices or the boxes after they have arrived at your location.

Step 2.

  • In the smallest flat box you will find the base plate

  • Remove the packaging

  • Place it on the floor with the rubber feet touching the floor

Step 3.

Open the second largest box, in here you will find:

  • The back support

  • The stand

  • The triangular cable/line cover

  • A box of screws.
    (In this box you will find 16 screws of 4 varying sizes, 3 allen wrenches, 4 washers and 4 rubber discs.)

Step 4.

  • Place the stand on the base plate and line it up with the screw holes

  • Use the 2 largest screws with washers to secure the stand to the base plate but do not screw them in too tightly until all the screws being used to secure the stand to base plate are in place.

  • Then tilt the stand forward and use the four black screws to fasten the plate to the stand from underneath.

  • Hand tighten and then fasten all 6 screws with the allen wrench.

Step 5.

  • Insert the Kiosk back support into the stand as shown below.

  • Fix the back support with the stand using 6 of the 6X12mm screws.

Step 6.

Open the 3rd and final box and remove the Kiosk from it.

In this box you will also find:

  • The card reader

  • Card reader power cable

  • Mount for the card reader

  • The wall mount for the Kiosk

  • The Kiosk power cable

  • Roll of printing paper

  • Ethernet cable

  • Top light reflector

Step 7.

  • Stand the kiosk up and remove the two back plastic panels with the clips and remove the silicone bags

  • Sit the kiosk into the back support and fix the back support to the Kiosk using four screws

Step 8.

  • While the back panels are removed, take this opportunity to unplug the usb that powers the front scanner which will not be in use.

  • Remove this usb cable and you can leave it as it is seen below

  • Make sure the power button above the usb ports is switched on as this is one of two power buttons that need to be on in order for the Kiosk to activate.

Adding Printing Paper

  • Press the small black leaver to the right of the power button to expose a white spindle

  • Remove the spindle

  • Slide the spindle through the paper roll

  • Put the paper roll and the spindle into the kiosk

  • Pull out a bit of the paper and close the door

  • The kiosk will then automatically cut the paper for you

Attaching the top light reflector

  • Put the top light reflector into the slot on the top of the kiosk with the arrows pointing downward.

Wisepad 3/Card reader mounting

Step 1.

Please ensure all equipment listed below is present.

  • K2 Card reader arm mount

  • K2 Card reader holder

  • 3 x 4x 10mm Machine screws.

Step 2.

Please remove the black cap on the right-hand side of the kiosk exposing 3 screw holes.

Please see the image below.

Step 3.

Please secure the card reader arm to the mount using the 3 bolts provided. Please make sure it is secure.

Step 4.

Please attach the card reader cradle to the card reader arm

Step 5.

  • Slide the cradle into the arm and you will hear a click when it is in place.

  • Unbox the card reader and the power cable and then

  • Slide the card reader into the cradle so the usb port lines up with the hole on the cradle.

  • Then plug in the smaller end of the usb cable into the card reader and the larger end into one of the free ports on the back of the kiosk


Step 6.

Plug the charging cable into the card reader.

Step 7.

Remove the back of the kiosk. You can do this by pulling down on the 2 clips see in the image below. The clips are at the top of the back of the kiosk.

Step 8.

Once the back of the kiosk is opened you can then plug the other end of the charging cable into the back of the kiosk.

Step 9.

Please place the cover of the kiosk back on. The cable will be sticking out as in the photo below.
Please apply pressure to close the back of the kiosk.

K2 System Setup

Step 1.

Select the “Start setup button”.

Step 2.

Select the country that the kiosk is located in.

Step 3.

Select the timezone the kiosk is in.

Step 4.

Select a Wi-Fi network and input the password. (We do recommend using an ethernet cable for improved connectivity)

Step 5.

Press the skip button at the bottom centre of the screen.

Step 6.

Press start configuration on the bottom centre of the screen.

Step 7.

Press ""Enter the system"" at the bottom centre of the screen.

When a 6-digit code appears on the screen, you can follow this article to add your kiosk to the Flipdish portal.
