The below steps will show you how you can quickly setup your POS and payment card reader so that you and your team can automatically prompt customers with a tipping option when they go to complete a transaction in store.
Requirements
You need to be using the Flipdish point-of-sale system.
You must be using the Flipdish payment reader.
Instructions
Go to your Flipdish Portal and choose the location which you want to add the tipping configuration to.
Select 'Sales Channels' from the menu on the left hand side, then go to 'Point of Sale' and then select the right property from the dropdown menu. If you're already in the desired property, just click on the POS Storefront you want to add the tip configuration to.
If you are using more than 1 POS system and Flipdish card reader then you will need to add tipping configuration to each POS storefront individual. Once you have selected the storefront, then click on 'Tips configuration'
Choose what you want your default options to be on the customer prompt screen. These can be either fixed amounts or percentages of the total. You can also use both and choose an amount at which it moves from percentage to fixed. This would be the 'Cut-off Bill Amount for Percentage'. Don't worry, the customer will always have the option to enter a custom amount as well.
Once you have completed these steps, click 'Save' and then wait a few minutes before rebooting your POS application and trying a test transaction to ensure it works as expected.
